Bleeding in early pregnancy

Hi can I have a post please? So I found out I was pregnant with 2nd child a week ago (I'm about 5 weeks) last night I found brown discharge when I wiped (sorry tmi) I rang 111 and they sent me to the out of hours doctors who referred me to the early pregnancy unit who will do a scan but he said they won't do anything until I'm at least 6 weeks so just got to wait...I've woke up this morning and I'm bleeding bright red blood (nothing on the pad but red and black color prom pieces ... there when I wipe) has this happened to anyone else and the pregnancy has continued or is this likely to be a miscarriage. I don't have any cramps, just bleeding. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks xx
