Joynt Leader
St. Clement's Anglican Church, Toronto, at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Doris Marguerite Leader, daughter of Mr. A. Leader and the late Mrs. Leader of Toronto, and Mr. John Peter Joynt, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Joynt, Rideau Ferry. Rev. C. P. Muirhead officiated and white calla lilies and ferns were used in decoration. Mr. Stanley Bulley played the organ music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Edna Giles, and Miss Evelyn Giles, as bridesmaids. Mr. John A. Coutts was best man for his cousin and the ushers were Mr. Reginald McMillan and Mr. Alfred Giles. The bride wore a gown of white embroidered net over taffeta. Her veil was in finger-tip length and she carried a white prayer book, with red carnations and freesia. Following a reception, Mr. and Mrs. Joynt left for Winnipeg. Going away the bride wore a brown suit, with a brown coat, and brown hat and matching accessories. They will take up residence at "Dawnaday Farm" at Lombardy. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Joynt, Rideau Ferry; Miss Margaret Joynt, Smiths Falls; Mrs. R. E. Stewart, Ottawa, and Capt. and Mrs. Harry Lovegrove, Port Stanley.

Perth Man Involved In Two Accidents Within Short Time
Smiths Falls, Feb. 11 -
Ian McLean, of RR 5, Perth, is in the Great War Memorial Hospital at Perth suffering from undetermined injuries he received when the car he was driving left the road and struck a rocky ditch one mile east of Perth. Earlier in the evening he escaped with minor injuries in another car accident near Port Elmsley. McLean was driving his father's car to Perth when the accident occurred. He was taken to the Perth hospital by passing motorists, John Currie and Fred Gorman of Smiths Falls. He was treated by Dr. J. A. Kidd and Dr. A. S. Porter. Last night McLean was operated on by Dr. E. P. White, of Kingston. An estimated $1,000 damage was done to the car. McLean was one of five persons injured in an accident earlier in the evening when the car in which they were travelling in failed to make a curve near Port Elmsley and overturned. Port Elmsley is six miles west of here. McLean was a passenger in a car owned and operated by Gayle Hall of Rideau Ferry proceeding east towards Smiths Falls. McLean, Hall and two passengers. Glen McCue of Rideau Ferry and Francis Moody of 3 Glascott street, Perth, received minor scratches and bruises. Frank Ramsay, of Rideau Ferry, also a passenger in the Hall car, was seriously injured and was taken to the Chambers Memorial Hospital here. He is being treated for chest and back injuries by Dr. J. A. McCue of Smiths Falls. Damage to their car was estimated at $600. OPP Constable Roy Dawson of Perth investigated. tan of bridesmaid

PRETTY WEDDING AT RIDEAU FERRY
PERTH, Ont. - May 28 - Rideau Ferry, was the scene of an attractive wedding today, when two well known young people of the district, Miss Elizabeth Allan McLean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. McLean, and Mr. James Earl Coutts, son of Mr. Arthur Coutts, both of the Ferry, were united in marriage by Rev. D. J. Scott, of the Ferry church. For the ceremony, the bride's dress was of tan sport silk with georgette hat to match, her shoes, also being of the same shade. Her going away suit was of navy tricotine with hat of henna straw and georgette silk blouse. The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome and useful gifts including several substantial cheques. After the ceremony, a charming wedding breakfast was served, the couple, later leaving for Toronto, where they will spend their honeymoon. Out-of-town guests included: Miss Mary Palmer, of Ottawa; a cousin of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Palmer, of Snow Road, Mr. and Mrs. Coutts, will reside near Rideau Ferry.

D. A. Cain, 101, Dies at Perth
PERTH. Feb. 15. (Special) - Lanark county's oldest citizen, Delvin Albert Cain, died in the county home at the age of 101 years and 9 months. He was born on May 8, 1855 in North Elmsley township near Rideau Ferry. He was a farmer until his retirement 25 years ago. Before going to county home 28 days prior to his death he had resided on Rideau avenue, Smiths Falls. Entombment was in Elmwood cemetery, Perth, and interment will take place in St. Bedis cemetery, Nolans Corners, in the Spring. Among several surviving relatives in this district is Edward Cain, Gore street East, Perth, who is a nephew.
